V.I.P. Group (Volunteers In Partnership) V.I.P. Starkville is a collaborative effort of Volunteer Starkville and Maroon Volunteer Center to better serve our community partners by recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers to serve. The purpose of the V.I.P. group is to build capacity among our community partners in the Golden Triangle Area (GTA). We will train and recruit volunteers through our Volunteer Leaders program. Our goal is to publicize volunteer opportunities in the Starkville, Oktibbeha, and surrounding counties that encourage volunteerism within the GTA community through our Volunteer Solutions website which tracks and manage volunteer opportunities. Any organization or individual seeking assistance with volunteer management, nonprofit resources, and training may attend the meetings. V.I.P. meetings will be held the 3rd Tuesday morning of each month at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership building in the board room on the 3rd floor. The meeting will begin at 9 am. Please R.S.V.P. at info@volunteerstarkville.org if you plan to attend.
As a central hub we offer
opportunities to serve and give back by becoming a volunteer leader within your
community. We provide information and
resources to individuals seeking opportunities to serve in the community
through event and activities with our local community nonprofits. And we enable
concerned citizens to address the needs of the community through implementing
programs and service that support the passion of volunteerism. Our program
focus areas are youth, education, low income families, elderly,
military/veteran families, and disaster preparedness.

Volunteer Starkville will
host “Party With A Purpose.” As our
first fundraiser, we are really seeking the community support. Mississippi has consistently been first when
it comes to giving. Despite be recognized as the poorest state in the country,
Mississippians have big hearts when it comes to helping others. We are recognized as the most giving state
when it comes to charity. We also do a lot of community service that goes
unnoticed due to the lack of data being submitted. The state of Mississippi
Commission for Volunteer Services and Volunteer Starkville want to ensure we
are getting recognized and supported for our efforts in volunteer service that we provide to improve our
communities and our state.
Volunteer Starkville connects
nonprofits with volunteers and promotes volunteer efforts in Starkville and Oktibbeha
County. Volunteer Starkville has
expanding its opportunities for volunteerism through partnership with Maroon
Volunteer Center from Mississippi State University and the Starkville Mayor’s Youth
Council, a program of the city. Together, we will better serve the community
and share our resources as it relates to volunteerism.
