Mission Monday: Pinelake Church Care Center

Pinelake’s Care Center is a resource center that provides help and hope for those in need. The Care Center primarily offers assistance to qualifying families needing food, but at times can help with other needs families face in difficult times. It is a center where people can receive food and encouragement. There are multiple ways to help at the Pinelake Church Care Center! The center is run by volunteers like you! You can help sort through donations, encourage those who need assistance, or donate food to keep the shelves stocked. They are always in need of donations of:¬†sweet peas, green beans, canned kidney beans, instant mashed potatoes, peanut butter, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, canned mixed vegetables, rice, tuna or canned meats, canned fruit, pork & beans, and cereal.

Pinelake is always looking for volunteer groups to conduct food drives throughout the year to collect nonperishable food items for the pantry to supplement the food they receive monthly from Kroger/Walmart and the MS Food Network to distribute to individuals and families in need. This is a great volunteer opportunity for a group of people and is very youth-friendly as well!

Volunteers are also welcome to assist with prep work and our food distribution on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. Volunteers are welcome to anytime on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays between 12:00 PM Р6:00 PM to help with prep work such as sorting through food donations and preparing food boxes to distribute that evening to individuals in need. Volunteers are also welcome to volunteer on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 5:30 Р8:00 PM to assist with our food distribution.
